Amidst missing out education on his early years, Tom strived his very best to deserve what he is now, a successful financial management coach and educator. It took more than years of hard work, diligence, and dedication for this will-driven, yet promising writer to reach the pedestal of success.
Tom was unable to read or write until the age of 19. Due to multiple family complications, he had little or no time for school. He was obliged to head and provide for the family in absence of his father. His mother was also chronically ill. With the kind of situation Tom was facing, he had to prioritize his family.
It was just when he and his mother immigrated to the United States that Tom was given an opportunity to acquire his education. He realized his predicament, and was aware of his great need to get into school. He was able to start his long and educational journey in a private school with the help of two concerned friends who came to his rescue. Being the oldest in the class, Tom was isolated in a room where he began his studies at the second-grade level.
Tom was diligent in educating himself. He was able to acquire sufficient knowledge. After getting married, he was able to serve the military for 14 years. But life’s challenges kept coming especially on the financial aspect. He had little or no savings, and was falling into debt.
Because of his continued financial struggles and insufficient salary, Tom decided to pursue a college degree to improve his chances for a better life. Because he was unable to find employment, he decided to take up a master’s degree. After which, he still had further studies on comprehensive Financial Fitness Course.
It was in his last employment that he found the light to success. He spent ten rough years working as a financial management coach and educator. He conducted numerous workshops, series of lectures, and private consultation sessions with people with various job positions, and income levels. He found happiness in extending help towards individuals who were financially challenged. His victories over his personal financial battles and experiences equipped him to relate and help his clients.
Tom discovered that insufficiency and problems were directly related to financial misconceptions, poor training, and lack of knowledge.
Tom was born in Dominica, a small island in the Caribbean. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He earned his master’s degree in 1988. In 2001, he continued his education through a comprehensive Financial Fitness Course generated by the collaborative efforts of the Universities of California, Georgia, and North Carolina State Cooperative Extension.
