Hi. I'm planning to work on an action-packed novel. It's my first time to actually attempt to write fiction. How do you guys usually do your character profiles? Do you have any specific format? I'd appreciate the share.

Character development

Do it good buddy, just make sure the characters are cool and savvy for the heroes and for the villains, make it more menacing and suave.

Hey George, Everyone

Hey George,
Everyone approaches this a little differently. Physical characteristics, to me, are about the least important. When I work on character development I think about the character's passion first. What is it that motivates him/her. That gives me a reason for the character to be involved in this thriller. If the conflict doesn't touch the character's passion, there's no reason for that character to get involved.

I've found a lot of help at http://www.plottopunctuation.com. The blog there deals entirely with character development. I read all posts.

Wow, wayzgoose, you are so cool and smart. You should start teaching aspiring writers.

As what i know, you start

As what i know, you start with the physical features. Then you move on to the personality, background, and other characteristics. What's that story about?

I agree with tawny, a lot will depend on what the story is all about. A lot will mean the characters, the scene and the plot.
