Deciding on the setting

Deciding on the setting of your story is perhaps one of the most crucial parts. How do we know that we've decided the appropriate setting for the story? Is it necessary to change settings as often? I need help on this. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Hi Liam. The setting of your story often depends on the transition. There are also times that it would depend on the genre of your story. For example, an adventure story shifts setting more often than a typical romance novel. Please do tell us more about your book so we can guide you accordingly.
