authors need to know how to write effectively
i read most of the time. no matter what it is, books, newspapers, e-books, name them. but i noticed that some books are absolutely not reader friendly. say for example, how would one convince me to read a book about trains? or about a book on facism and the like? as to my opinion, books are not just for mere information, authors must also make efforts for their books to be comprehensive and interesting.
Wow, thanks for the tips delicateporcelain, really cool of you to help people like us.
Hi there delicateporcelain!
Thank you very much for participating in BookWhirl.com's lively online forum. I do agree with what you have stated that books are written for a specific audience. It is rather difficult to write for the general audience because you have to make a little more effort to broaden your ideas so everybody can comprehend. But ironically, not everyone would understand, or agree to what you have written. Each writer has just his own approach on reaching his kind of audience.
Thank you very much for your post. We look forward to more of your ideas and opinions.

Hi direk_met!
I totally understand your concern about how authors need to write effectively. However, we need to understand that writing is an art. And not all kinds of art can be appreciated by everybody, right? Most of the time, writers write for a specific audience. But if you observe, there are more books that we enjoy than of those that we don’t.
Thanks for posting!

Thank you for your reply. But i still see the need for authors to write effectively. How can they attract more readers if they're full of jargons. It's just my opinion though.
thanks a lot.

Hi direk_met!
Thank you for posting your opinion. But as what i have mentioned on my earlier post, writing is broad. Some books are meant to be written for general audience, and some are meant for a group of individuals. A practical example would be physicians. Medicine is really broad as what we all know, that's why physicians have their specializations. Just like writing books, some authors write for a specific audience, who can understand their kind of lingo.
But i totally respect your opinion though.
Thank you for your concern. If you have more suggestions, please feel free to post them.
Keep them coming.

I think you interest people based on who they are. It really depends on the interest of that person on what topics he/she would want to read about. Artists wouldn't read about books on nuclear physics, right? I believe it depends on the field as well. Take for example, TIME magazine. The news is condensed and brief and readable and open to the public. Compare TIME to the economist which contains business jargon. Apparently, it caters to that certain field and the people that read it understand it. All books are creative in a way in their own respective fields. Some authors just write of the sake of writing. They don't care about the profit. The opposite may also happen to the most complicated of books, i.e. Lord of the Rings, which became big though half of what I was reading wasn't really for the "normal" reader. It's up to the reader on how much they can tolerate. Well, that's what I think. :)
