book cover design
Chuck Norris here. I just want to ask if publishers charge an extra fee for book cover designs? How much do they usually charge?
Please respond.
Thanks
Chuck N.

Hey Steven!
Thank you very much for your reply. Are you a self-published author?

Since I am a first time author and self-publisher (apparently, independent publisher is what we're called now), budget has been a major issue for me. Because I don't have a lot of money to spend, I have been using a lot of, well let's say, "less expensive" designers, editors, etc., most of which have been absolute crap. Hey, you get what you pay for, right...
Wrong!
I finally found a designer who is absolutely fabulous. He is talented, efficient, eager, straight forward, but most importantly he does an awesome job within any budget. I sent him my book so he can do the interior design work, and when he saw the cover he told me about ten major issues that were wrong with it, and I don't get the sense he was trying to get the work either; I think he was just being helpful. I am so thankful because the last thing an independent author wants is to look like an independent author, right! he says he has some really great editor friends too, which I wish I knew before going through the four - yes, I said, four that I worked with. Funny, but most people think WRITING the book is the hard part. Wow! Writing was so much fun. Putting it togther is where the real work begins, especially if it's your first one.
Anyway, I just wanted to put it out there about this awesome designer. If you are interested in him; his name, website, tel # or whatever, let me know by emailing me at: staceygrewal@gmail.com.
