day job

I was talking to CJ Box at a writer's conference last fall. He told me that the number of authors who could quit their day job and do nothing but write about equalled the number of men in the NBA. Figure how many published authors there are in the States,and that isn't too many. I hope you like your day job!

Why give your day job when you can still have it and at the same time still publish books?

That will depend on the books and the marketing. As with any product some books will sell better than others.
