Is it wise to be vague on physical descriptions? I would want to keep my characters mystery sometimes.

I think you should have it vague but a bit mysterious type, like James Bond.

I think it is a benefit to sometimes make your characters vague to make it mysterious.

It's wise to be vauge when it's needed. It's really all up to you how to manage and package your characters. Play with your descriptions. Reveal necessary details on the right timing.
