Building A Marketing List

Hello Liam!
Thank you for posting here at BookWhirl.com’s Forum.

Growing a mailing list is a very tedious marketing process. Of course, you can take the easy route and just purchase a list but it won’t have the same quality as a self-grown one.

I trust that you’ve already created a privacy policy as well as took advantage of a reliable mailing list manager. In addition, I trust that you already have everything covered with regard to checking with your web hosting provider if they support or require subscribers to “double opt-in” to your mailing list and all other things technically-related such as form on your website where people can initially sign up. If no, then I would advise you work on them first.

I’m assuming that your existing list is not as large as you had expected it to be. With everything else covered, what you would want to do is drive traffic to your website where your mailing list form is located. It would be good to have a link to the form on every page of your website to give the potential subscriber every opportunity to sign up.

In order to drive traffic to your website without spending a dime, you would need to do an extensive but a less costly marketing campaign but still as effective as other campaigns. I would suggest taking advantage of social networking sites. There are tons of them out there, most, if not, all of them do not require you to pay when you sign up. Promote your website where the form is located. Link your website up with all your networking sites and send out messages to your contacts about it.

There are also web directories that you can post a link of your website on. There are a lot of them online and you can even post on categories that you feel best suits your website.

I hope my advice has helped you in a way. If you have follow-up questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I would gladly answer them at the very best that I can.

Choosing a Social Networking Site

Hello Liam!

It's nice to hear from you again. Practically speaking liam, you do not need to maintain a lot of social networking sites. Perhaps you can start with one or two social networking sites before venturing into multiple sites. One or two allows you to maintain your site frequently and efficiently. Too many sites to handle will leave some of them half baked. Social networking site's primary purpose is for "socials", so that's why you must keep them that way or else visitors will lose interest. Social networking sites is a great tool for book marketing and promotions, but when you use them for pure business, there's a great tendency for site visitors to resist or to slack off. You must remember that millions are competing for attention, so make sure to stand out.

On choosing on which social networking sites to use, have social networking sites which are easy to use for you. Choose them according to what fits your style, and your purpose. You may probably want to choose the social networking site where in most of your friends are also attached to. Having real contacts, gets you in playing the game. You can easily jumpstart discussions on topics and keep the discussions flowing.

Remember liam that the main key is to "socialize".

If you have more questions and concerns, feel free to post them.

I hope i have helped you in a way. Thank you very much.

my genre

Thank you so much for the advices, Jake. Let me share to you my book. My book is a self-help guide on teenagers who have been freshly rehabilitated from the use of drugs. It's an interesting guide on how to make a fresh new start. It will help the readers to be emotionally and mentally recover from their dark experiences.

What do you think is the appropriate kind of social networking for this genre?

Thank you.

Your social networking site

Hi Liam!

It's nice to hear from you again. I assume that your book's target market are teenagers. For starters, i advise you to try out Facebook or multiply as your social networking site. As you know, these social marketing sites are highly populated by youth (ages 16-25). In this way, you are rightly close to your target market.

If you have more concerns, please don't hesitate to post them here.

Thank you very much.
