Memoir: A Family's Story
My aunt and I coauthored a book, Miriam Daughter of Finnish Immigrants, a story of my grandparents' journey to America in the early 1900s. Miriam's story reveals her family's challenges and triumphs as they carve out a life in the rugged northern Minnesota wilderness during the Great Depression. The book has received very positive reviews and reader response in the US and Finland. I am marketing it through on line sales, mail order and direct sales at various events. Writing our book took three years. The experience brought me a new appreciation for the resiliency and strength of my family. Miriam says in the introduction, "We had very few luxuries, but we had dreams of better days, and a hope that sustained us through times of hardship." My best sales are at events where I meet and visit with people while I autograph books. Our book can be ordered on line at Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble and many independent bookstores in the midwest. Any thoughts on how to increase sales and sustain a high level of orders on line? Check out our book on line and an order would be great too! http://outskirtspress.com/dianedettmann

Hi Diane,
It's great to know that you are thriving to promote your book. Having your book on online bookstores is a good start. If you want to focus marketing your book online, you should at least have a personal website. Broadcast email ads and post book ads on websites that have high traffic rates. The best and practical way to increase your book sales is through extensive promotion and publicity.
Best,
