promoting self-help books

My room mate released her self-published book last month. It's a self-help book on coping up with academic stress. She's having difficulty on promotions and the like. What should i advise?
It would be best if you seek support with your Student Government. You can tie-up with their programs to promote your room mate's book. Also, you can actively join and participate book clubs and organizations. Join the circle of community authors.
